Web based desktop tile picker

You’ve done sensation work on the tile and adapter picker site @wolfie Thanks very much for your efforts!

Thanks for the praise. Much appreciated! Might have done it out of self-interest mostly. Needed something to smooth over the wait period  Looks like my batch 10 will arrive early next week. Yay!

Awesome job wolfie. Thank you for it.

I just wish a forum admin would have stickied this to the top. I was wishing this existed and was part of the order gadget as I was imagining what tiles I wanted to buy would look like but had no way of visualizing it. Finding it here in the forum if stickied to the top before completing my order would have worked just as well.

Thanks, perfect timing! I’m feeling pretty good about this design

Going to also get Tux and another blank one to swap out the top middle from time to time.

Finally got and set up my Framework desktop. Adjusted the tile spacing to better reflect reality. I have to say I’m impressed how snug they align. Would have expected bigger gaps. Looks nice.

Tiles with vents have the chassis shine through (black) in certain places. Looks pretty IRL. If anybody has better tile graphics than the ones I used please let me know - happy to improve that as well

Edit: My actual front panel looks something like this currently

With a company logo sticker covering the two solid black tiles. Only thing left is to hopefully get one of the newly available handles soon… and hopefully improve the PSU? noise every fifteen minutes or so. When this thing is silent it is pure bliss

I ended up switching to this design based on the tiles I already own:

I found [this] listing for (unofficial) 3D printed tiles, which from the images on the listing looked like they’d blend seamlessly with official tiles, while offering additional colors. I tried making some patterns with the added colors in mind below (top row = requires unofficial colors, bottom row = doable with official tile packs), but sadly due to my country’s current tariff policies, it’s unfeasible for me to pick these up to see if they’re any good.

The framework lavender tiles aren’t as purple as the ones in your image. They’re very pale. The image on the order page is mostly accurate.

Are you referring to my Minecraft screenshot or to the Etsy product I linked? I’m aware that the real tiles are much lighter and closer to blue-purple than in my screenshot (the designs I did in Minecraft are more for layout and concept than actual appearance on the Desktop, seeing what might be possible with the restrictive tile space and color palette), and I’d expect that the 3D printed tile colors are different than the injection molded official tiles.
