According to this, buyers have 30 days from the ship date to request a return “unless otherwise specified in the product listing”. Given that the new Ryzen Framework 13 shipped with a faulty bios, will Framework update the return policy for the Ryzen Framework 13 to be longer?
I’m currently suffering from multiple problems with the Framework 13 that would normally have caused me to request an immediate return, but I am waiting to see if the new bios fixes them. If new bios isn’t released soon, or additional issues continue even with the new bios, I would prefer to wait and see if Framework can continue to fix the issues. But I don’t want to be stuck with an unreturnable lemon if ultimately the device is unfixable.
They already announced a return policy of 45 days on the “Getting ready for your batch” mail.
Here is the relevant part:
We’re starting the first shipments of Batch 1 Framework Laptop 13 (Ryzen 7040 Series) systems and Mainboards shortly. We’re so excited to see what you think of yours. Because this is the first set of AMD-based systems we’ve ever shipped and software and firmware has come in a lot hotter than on previous launches, we anticipate launching at least one and possibly more BIOS and driver updates over the next month. To make sure you get the opportunity to really put your laptop through the paces, we’re going to extend the return window for you to 45 days.
