Hi, apologies if this is not the right place to post, but I just got a Windows 11 product key from the Framework Store and the page asks me to check back shortly after the order has been confirmed (which i does show as confirmed).
I thought this process would be instant for a digital download, and I wanted to do it from the Framework store to have all my Framework related purchases under my Framework account. However, I don’t know how long the wait would be. Would be highly grateful for any support here.

It might be quicker to contact support here, knowledgebase.frame.work/contact/contact-us-rJfw7Ryglx. Most on the forum are just regular users. And FW has said the forum is not intended as an official channel for contacting support.
Amazon does something similar with digital keys. I believe it’s related to confirmation of payment before sending a digital key, since it’s more common for stolen credit cards to be used for digital-only purchases. Should still be automated (probably? not sure how Framework does it though) but might take a while.
I ended up in a similar situation. I didn’t get around to purchasing a Windows key until my computer already arrived, and I went ahead and purchased it from Framework. I can’t remember the exact scenario, but I think it was a Friday and it ended up taking until the next “business day” to actually get it. I ended up installing Windows and just using it non-activated over the weekend.
I was able to get my key in a couple of hours so I might be lucky, but they might be operating on Taiwan time maybe? Either way, def could be automated…but I am happy regardless. Windows is also pretty feature complete unactivated.
I’m in this exact same situation for a week now since my laptop arrived. I’m fighting their email support bots with zero luck for a week now, and all they keep telling me is the exact same thing in every response - to click the word “Redeem” on the Digital Purchases page, all while, for a week, I’ve been telling them multiple times there’s nothing clickable on that page. I even sent a screenshot of the DOM tree structure to prove that there are no clickable elements on that page, no event listeners. Then all I am told is to click that word ffs. I even asked for a refund, and they keep ignoring me and keep telling me to click the word.
It drives me nuts this whole shituation, as it seems like there’s nothing that can be done, and I’m stuck locked-in with the Windows Pro licence that I can’t use, and I’m losing hope this will ever get sorted, nor will I get my refund.
Are you starting new tickets each time, or replying to the email from the first ticket? I only ask because if you use the “contact support” option on the site, it creates a new ticket, and you’ll probably get the initial response every time.
Either way, that definitely sounds frustrating. I would reply to the support email and ask for the case to be escalated.
@BigT, thanks for a human interaction haha. I’ve been replying to the same email thread to which the bots reply, so no new ticket should be generated on their system.
But yeah, totally, not the greatest experience at all so far.
Yeah, had some struggles with the support team once. But generally they have been pretty good to deal with. I think if you ask for your case to be escalated, it should hopefully get moved up the chain to the next level.
When I ordered a Windows key from Framework, I think the issue is that I ordered it along with a couple of other items, and so my order didn’t get charged until it was ready to be shipped, and they key doesn’t get added to your digital purchases until you are charged. I ordered on a Friday and the order didn’t get charged until Monday.
I ended up just installing Windows and using it un-activated over the weekend.
Okay, that’s an interesting one indeed. I noticed the other day that in my case, the order status is still saying “Shipped”. This makes me think that until they mark the order as fulfilled, the product key won’t be unlocked on the digital purchases page.
I’ve been charged immediately in full as I completed the purchase order, though. So, it shouldn’t be an issue with taking my money haha
And for sure, I could easily use the non-activated Windows as well (what’s the point of purchasing a licence then). However, for the specific development work that I do, I must have the Windows PRO and an activated licence for various reasons. So, in my case, I can’t really use the laptop.
I just hope there’s a single human who reads the emails at some point, and I could get higher up to the management (if it exists )
