I am an electrician by trade. Favourite hobby installing, using, and far too often, tweaking Linux OSes. Previously a Windows user up to win 8.1. First tried Linux, rather unsuccessfully, in 2001/2002 with Red Hat 7. Later on in November 2007 I discovered Ubuntu 7.10 Gutsy Gibbon and have been on Ubuntu and Debian flavours/variants ever since.

I have only owned 2 laptops previously, my recent purchase of a Framework i7-1260p is only my third laptop ever and is by far my best laptop purchase; a few months in and it is working perfectly with no problems showing up at all. A good daily driver for me, very enjoyable to use.

I am fascinated by the idea of a laptop that is both user serviceable and easily upgradeable as is the Framework offering; probably the most user and environmentally friendly idea I’ve seen in the last 30+ years I’ve been using computers.
