AMD Hibernation instability is back in 6.14.2

Which Linux distro are you using?

Which release version?
(if rolling release without a release version, skip this question)

(If rolling release, last date updated?)

Which kernel are you using?

Which BIOS version are you using? 3.05

Which Framework Laptop 13 model are you using? AMD Ryzen™ 7040 Series

Hibernation freezes are back.. this time a little different, the behavior is a blank screen instead of the framebuffer. Doesn’t happen all the time, maybe 5% so far. Journal is blank unfortunately.

I’ve downgraded mesa to 24.3.2 to address seperate syability issues ongoing.

Yeah, stay at 6.14.0 if possible.

6.14.2 also introduced issues again with ROCM and GPU pass-through to VMs (FW 16 dGPU)

You don’t mention your distro, but Ubuntu disables hibernate for a reason…

It’s tagged for Arch. He also said rolling release. No need for the snark if you aren’t going to put in a little work.

On hey, thanks for pointing that out! Nice one.

Seeing better results from 6.14.3 and mesa 25.0.4

Spoke to soon, came back 30 mins after putting my Framework laptop 13 into s2idle and the laptop was “in suspend” - power light pulsing.. but the laptop was red hot. Had to give it 10 second salute.
