Hi all, I am running Ubuntu 21.10 and cannot get my audio port to recognise the mic input. I can only ever get my ‘internal mic’ as my input source. Any recommendations?

The Realtek codec doesn’t seem to recognize the headset jack mic by default. There’s an easy solution described in Ubuntu 21.04 on the Framework Laptop - #58 by Atul_Ingle, and a better but somewhat more complex one in Some notes on audio in Linux.
