I have a fairly recent (four month old) FW 13 Intel 13th Gen i5 running both Win 11 and Debian 12, and I usually have the backlight keys lit at the lowest setting. When the laptop goes to sleep, i.e. has been unattended for 15 minutes, screen has been off, and the OS puts the laptop in sleep mode (Win or Linux) the keys will flash for about 30-50 seconds before calming down and turning off.
Does anyone else experience this?
bump for a little help? Should I take a video? Nobody has their keyboard backlight flicker when their laptop goes to sleep?
Hi @TheSmashy,
I do not recall others posting a similar issue with their keyboard backlight. It could be a hardware issue or a firmware issue. I would suggest contacting support with the issue and they will probably want a video of it happening. They have a more extensive knowledgebase of issues with Framework machines and should be able to help you troubleshoot the steps to get it resolved.
The flashing is almost indicative of a low voltage situation (like just above and below a threshold). Would be interesting if it only happens at the lowest backlight setting or all brightness levels. These are just my thoughts though.
