Okay so in my desk set up I’ve got the Framework docked vertically on the left side of my desk, and my iPad on a stand right next to it between the computer and my monitor. However, I’ve been having an issue where the Wi-Fi on my iPad will just completely shut down (same with my iPhone if it’s on the bottom of the stand). However, if the laptop is off it doesn’t seem to happen, and if the iPad is on the right side of my desk, there’s no issues. It’s really annoying because I like having Youtube up on my iPad while I’m doing other stuff on the computer, and although I can put it on the right side of my desk, it’s very clunky and annoying. Anyone have any idea what could be causing this issue? There’s no Wi-Fi Issues on the laptop itself, but it seems to be blowing away my other devices. I dropped out of computer science so I’m at a loss
Resolved: I was using a controller dongle that was messing it up lol
I had a similar problem when I tried to put a Zigbee controller (hooked to a Raspberry Pi 4) in the same closet as a wifi access point. The wifi device just overwhelmed the Zigbee controller, to the point that none of the other Zigbee devices in the house could “hear” it. I suspect it’s similar to the reason you can’t see stars when the sun is shining.
Bottom line is that you might need to keep a little distance between your devices, as annoying as that may be.
If your wifi is 2.4ghz you could try disabling bluetooth on the laptop. Sometimes the two can interfere with each other. I’ve also heard of some mice occupying that bandwidth as well.
Oh my god that’s what it was. I recently got a new controller I was using a 2.4ghz dongle for. After unplugging it and plugging it back in that’s definitely the issue. I’m so glad it’s not the computer lol
