Charger won't work sometimes

Hi all,

I have an AMD variant laptop 13 running Arch Linux that is a few months old now. About 20%-30% of the time I connect the charger, it doesn’t work. There are no charging indication lights and the battery indicator is showing that the battery is in a non charging state. If I remove and re-connect the charger, it works fine. I can confirm that this issue occurs in at least two different ports.

There is no damage to the charger and everything else works fine. This problem also occurs through a docking station if that is relevant at all.

Is anyone else experiencing a similar issue? This is starting to become quite annoying.

Docking stations can present problems.
Try plugging in the charger directly each time for awhile to eleminate that variable.

When I say that the problem also occurs through the docking station, what I mean is that the problem is present both through the docking station AND with the charger directly connected.

The dock is not the problem.
