if the old code is for a pro or ultimate version of windows, it will activate a pro installation of 10.

Just a warning, since you mentioned that you have a new Framework Laptop. Windows 10 is not officially supported by the 12th gen mainboard, and you may run into driver issues in you don’t install Windows 11. If your laptop is an 11th gen processor either OS will work.

Yeah no point putting 10 on a current laptop unless you ‘have to’. It goes out of support in a couple of years, plus it’s already not getting the new under the hood features that 11 has.

I put 11 on my Framework and it’s been solid.
