Framework 13 — Port Labels (Number and Capabilities)

Every time I clicked an expansion card into FW13 (AMD), I was not sure if the port was suitable for the expansion card.

So I got myself a die cutter and experimented with where to place stickers and indicate port number and capabilities.

Usually when you place stickers on a laptop enclosure they either wear down and the edges look ugly over time. I was looking for an unobtrusive and revertible way (no blocking of ports, no engraving of the enclosure, no changes of the outside appearance).

The dots below the USB-C Port indicate the port number.

Port 1: •
Port 2: • •
Port 3: • • •
Port 4: • • • •

Power: Power Delivery
USB3.2 / USB4: USB-Version
Display: DisplayPort Supported
Draw+: Higher energy consumption with USB-A card

I think the final result looks pretty nice.
I might need a better printer with a higher resolution

Looks nice!

Here’s another solution (for the 16) Labels for Port Capabilities - #33 by Spooner

For printing, try experimenting with the paper type setting. My printer will create much more detailed prints on “glossy” paper, and if your paper can’t handle it, it will just smear so no ill effect.
