I’d like to install Debian 12 (Bookworm) on a FW13 Ultra 125H but the stock kernel (6.1.0) will be too old to properly support this processor. What kernel version should I be using? From bookworm-backports I can install 6.10.6 - is this likely to be OK? Firmware could be a problem, I plan to get that from backports too now that it is available. My fallback option before going to Ubuntu is to use kernels and firmware from testing. Has anyone else gone down this route to offer any insight if this approach is going to work out?
One thing I haven’t found anywhere is a list of FW models and the recommended minimum Linux kernel version. That would be helpful for users who wish to use a distribution that doesn’t have official support.
