Debian frame.work fingerprintd setup and seahorse (passwords) nightmare

Which Linux distro are you using? debian

Which release version?
(if rolling release without a release version, skip this question)

(If rolling release, last date updated?) 20260918

Which kernel are you using? 7.1.13-1 (2026-09-03) x86_64

Which BIOS version are you using? 0.0.4.1

Which Framework Laptop 16 model are you using? (AMD Ryzen™ 7040 Series)

I’m not sure where I went wrong, but with my laptop and fingerprint setup seem to miss something.

When I have fingerprint activated as a login mechanism (gdm3), it seems like seahorse is creating a NEW login keyring every single time, and I don’t know how to change this behaviour. I’m not sure where to look, but I’d love it if my slack/backups (duplicity)/… passwords would be accessible once I login to my system.

Workaround would be to disable the fingerprint reader… but obviously that’s the last answer I’d like to hear ;-).
