[DIY Laptop Setup Question] Input Cover does not sit flush on the top right side

I am putting together the AMD DIY edition of the Framework 13, and followed instructions on the Support Page guide for my laptop model when setting up. I am aware that the bottom right corner of the input cover is meant to not sit flush for easier removal; I want to make it clear in writing that I am talking about the corner with the fingerprint reader.

The Issue:

After aligning the input cover and trying to put it into place, the top right corner sticks up about a centimeter. Based on a comment on the Support page’s guide as well as a thread from the Framework subreddit, I believe the issue is caused by placement of the cables leading up to the display underneath where the input cover would sit. However, I’m unsure of how to rearrange them to allow the cover to sit properly — I’m looking for some help with figuring out what I need to do to solve my problem. I’ve attached some (slightly blurry; sorry about that) images of the laptop to this post.

Thank you for reading.

Sorry, I was wrong in an earlier version of this post.

Thank you for the speedy reply! Assuming you mean the one in the image here, yes. I figured that it was supposed to be that way since the one in the top left corner looked similar, but looking at it now the one on the left side is distinctly different.

yes, it does look bent upward. Also your circled photo seems to show the proper forming marks on the metal. It is supposed to be that way.

However, your cable looks scuffed up. It’s the webcam cable I believe. It does not seem to be sitting properly. Is it resting on top of the tab?

Sorry, I’m not entirely sure what tab you’re referring to. If you mean the one in the very corner, no, but the cables do get pretty close to it. I’m putting up a couple pictures of the cables around this part of the laptop.

Yes that’s the one.

OK but the cable seems to have indentation marks?

Like something was pressing down hard on it and left a mark.

Is your power button/fingerprint reader seated properly? Nothing projecting underneath?

I think it’s seated correctly; there doesn’t seem to be anything that’s protruding out on the underside:

My guess is that those would have been from trying to get the input cover lined up properly, but I’m not sure.

Previous threads here as well as the getting started guide for this particular model, step 9:

Note that the Input Cover will not sit entirely flat until the bottom fasteners are tightened. The bottom right corner is slightly lifted to make it easy to remove the Input Cover.

I had this issue with mine - It was the display cables holding it up a bit (even with the screws tightened) - I had to gently press them down into their routing channel, once I did that it all seated correctly.
