Yes, the Framework Laptop can run Linux! We’ll be detailing the Linux distributions we verify compatibility with as we get closer to launch. In addition, the Framework Laptop DIY Edition is available with no OS pre-installed, enabling you to choose your own from day one.

Crossing fingers that it will be compatible with Arch based distros and not just Ubuntu based distros.

I totally trust the Arch community to cross-compile drivers and even kernels as needed.
But yes it’s nice to have official support.

As Linux user I’ll choose DIY without OS. I don’t want to support Microsoft, so I don’t want to pay for a MS Windows license.

Price will be reduced when choosing no operating system?

Correct, the price of the DIY Edition will default to being without an OS, with the option to add a Windows 10 Home or Pro license for additional cost for folks who want that.
