Hello! I just recently got my laptop and have realized that whenever I leave it and it shuts down, or if I shut it and it for a bit, whenever I go to open it back up it does not turn on. It will turn on however if I plug it in. The battery percentage does not matter and it happens every time I leave it. Is there any fix for this?
You are on the 11th gen which has a dead RTC battery. Framework made a replacement solution that requires some soldering, but fixes this issue completely.
However, try contacting them, as they might have replacement batteries as well. Once you replace that, just don’t leave the laptop unplugged for more than a week or so and the battery will hold for a long time.
The issue was that the battery was ONLY charging when the adapter is plugged in. You could have a full laptop battery and a dead RTC battery as a result. The solution they came up charges via the laptop battery and works really well.
