I’m using the expansion shell with an OCulink adapter and I was just wondering what size screw I need to secure this 3d printed back plate? I know I had one before but it has eluded me. I’d love to pick a new one up.
So unfortunately I don’t have the information you’re looking for, BUT I do know there should be a spot inside the FW16 main chassis where there are extra screws. One of those might work. FW16 Extra Screws
Think it is supposed to be one similar to the ones on the left and the right side keeping the M2 board in place. (which are similar sized, I believe, to the ones required to assemble the interposer between the mainboard and the expansion bay)
Thanks for the replies, folks. Unfortunately, it doesn’t seem to be the same size as the screw holding the M.2 drives down. I tried one and it seems slightly too small and strips when I tighten it with any force at all.
The extra screws is a cool idea, but if I’m being honest, I don’t really feel like partially disassembling the rig or removing parts to get to them.
If anyone from the community or @Framework team might know that screw size, I’d love to pick one up!
If this hole is not modded but officially part of the bare Expansion Bay shell it should be somehere on this schematic, with its exact measurements already given. (or if not you can just take a ruler and measure the hole on the schematic and then calculate its precise size using the measurements taken and scale of the schematic):
Then you will at least know what kind of screw you are looking for
