Idk, you can use multiple amd drivers/vulkan drivers for different applications without relogging, so maybe that’s fine. Idk how that works, but it does.
Thanks for the info.

I have discovered a new issue I believe wasn’t happening with Fedora 41. When my laptop resumes from sleep the fingerprint reader doesn’t work until I unlock the laptop. The lock screen still works with my fingerprint if I just lock the laptop without it going to sleep.
Do you have extensions enabled? There are some that break the fingerprint reader.
Start disabling one by one, youll find the culprit
So many bugs…
Running into the same issue with the KDE Edition
I feel this was already not working on the previous fedora version (towards the end). I COULD be wrong though…
I disabled the fingerprint reader anyway, because of a (long open) gnome bug its not possibly to unlock some cases (ie fallback to password), which is annoying if the laptop is closed (ie only working on external screen).
The first few weeks of a Fedora release are always like this.
If bugs are an issue, its generally recommended to wait a few weeks before upgrading.
what bugs are you experiencing?

Installed 42 a week ago, having issues with audio, have to select the output each time I play a youtube video, varies between Digital and Analog outputs, sometimes have to switch them if I pause a video. Now after attempting another update my Display port to my monitor stopped working. I switched port locations on both monitor and 16 with no luck.
I ran this per a forum post
> sudo dnf install https://kojipkgs.fedoraproject.org/packages/kernel/6.13.11/200.fc41/x86_64/kernel-6.13.11-200.fc41.x86_64.rpm https://kojipkgs.fedoraproject.org/packages/kernel/6.13.11/200.fc41/x86_64/kernel-core-6.13.11-200.fc41.x86_64.rpm https://kojipkgs.fedoraproject.org/packages/kernel/6.13.11/200.fc41/x86_64/kernel-modules-6.13.11-200.fc41.x86_64.rpm https://kojipkgs.fedoraproject.org/packages/kernel/6.13.11/200.fc41/x86_64/kernel-modules-core-6.13.11-200.fc41.x86_64.rpm
and rebooted, but issue persists. I would really like to get my external monitor and audio issues sorted.
Also after todays update I have a “?” over my wifi network and can only get access after turning on NordVPN.
Im still a novice when it comes to Linux, comfortable enough with the terminal, but dont know that many commands. Please let me know what you need to troubleshoot.
I managed to fix my issues
this solved my external monitor issue. Seems like disconnecting the battery in UEFI and resetting the USB hub fixed it.
The network issue was due to NordVPN client, a setting I turned on for auto kill was blocking wifi access when it wasnt connected.
I also installed the EasyEffect script for the FW16, hopefully that fixes my audio issue. Still have to test that.
Glad these forums are here. Thanks for posting everyone.
