I keep checking my email even though I know I’ll get a notification when they send an email and I probably wont be hearing anything before Thursday anyways :skull:

I’m hoping that this is one of those times where no news has been good news.

Same. Even though I’m batch 15, I’m just excited for the clock to start so i can start figuring out when to expect mine.

I know they said they’re supposed to get the heatsinks this week, hopefully that means today. Then they’ll start production right away. I would imagine literally all of the other components are ready, so it’s just assembly at that point which should go fairly quickly I would imagine.

I am hoping we get some reviews this week to quell our thirst for news…

I would think they’ll have to first test this batch of heatsinks out but from what I understand from the last email, they will likely just take their chances and start production right away and hope everything is fine when they are doing QC benchmarking/stress tests for those first units.

I’d honestly be fine if they start up slow and make sure things are right. I am hoping to get my tax return before they charge my card for my B6 order. Here’s to Framework working fast, but the US Gov working faster. >_> I guess I shouldn’t hold my breath on that.

Yeah…don’t bet on the US Gov being fast about anything. XD

lol you better file that today then. The irs takes 6-8 weeks minimum to issue a refund. they are so understaffed however that it is more like 12-14 weeks. (a CPA speaking)

I have done similar purchases over the years, primarily Black Friday sales and HP laptops.

But taking it into perspective, the value of the dollar has declined quite a bit over 15-20 years. That makes the Framework laptop a lot more palatable to me.
Divide the Framework’s price by 2 and it looks a lot nicer.

I literally have 2 HP X360 laptops that are fine except for memory, speed, and keyboards. Some keys on each of those two keyboards have become erratic or failed to register at all.
I did upgrade both to SSDs and both are 16 GB ram, but that is just not enough anymore.
And a Framework, which I have ordered, solves all those problems.
Keyboard replacement on the FW? 2 minutes? HP, kinda really tough and also expensive.

I can’t wait…but am waiting anyway.

laden or unladen? These details matter!

Holy crap, gov’t won the race by miles … I got my return 5 days ago. Was expecting next month. Yay! I can afford my FW16 now. Still weirded out that the IRS did something within one week though. That’s mad fast for the US gov’t.

Congrats man. I filed mine the day first day I could, still waiting for the IRS to even approve it. Some years I get lucky and get it within a couple of weeks.

That is highly unusual. did you use that new personal efile system or turbo tax

Rather off topic…

But personally I use https://www.freetaxusa.com/, once I hit file it goes pretty quick. I pay for the State filing, but Federal is free for virtually everybody. Just need to wait for one more paperwork item and I can file and be done with it.

well i use the free fill-able forms and then NY I do by hand. But I’m a CPA so it’s not too much trouble for me. I always could use the work system but i like to keep personal things off work machines.
