File Explorer freezing

So I don’t know if this is the right place for the topic. I’m sorry if it doesn’t.

I have my framework laptop since about a year now. Everything workes fine with Linux or Windows 10.
But unfortunately like 1-2 weeks after I install Windows 11 the file explorer freezes everytime I open a directory or folder. I own a framework laptop with the 11th gen of the i5 and this bug occured with several version of win11 but not with win10.
I cleared cache, edited some registry entries which was told in some tuts. A week ago asked a friend of mine and he suspected it could be a hardware issue.
Can anybone help me pls?

This is actually happening on my machine too. Windows 11. Opening a new window in file Explorer causes it to temporarily freeze.

For me it’s happening every time when using the file explorer and to be honest I’m unable to use that computer properly on windows 11.
I could wait for hours but the issue is still there. It doesn’t matter if I restart the computer, end the process in the task manager or just wait tho.

Can you at least tell us what is going on in the Resource Manager and if there is something popping up in the Event Manager that would be useful.

1.) If you haven’t already, contact Framework support.
2.) Have you tried restoring to a system restore point before that issue started to arise? (If not too far into the past)
3.) Often this issue seems to be caused by the GPU. So I suggest to uninstall the graphic drivers, reboot and see if it makes any difference.

Definitely contact support, but I’m also curious, did you do a fresh install of Windows 11 or did you upgrade your install of Windows 10? If you upgraded, you may want to try backing up your data and doing a clean install if possible.

I upgraded from windows 10 and also did a fresh install of windows 11 but still about one week later this issue still comes back.

In that case I hope support is able to offer you help!

As far as I know this is a Windows 11 issue, I suspect it has to do with the multiple tabs update. At least that’s when it started happening in my machine
