- Windows 11 (Both before and after installing KB5046617 update)
- Framework 13 AMD 7040
- Antlion Audio ModMic USB 2
Regardless of which USB-A port I plug the ModMic into:
- USB-A port on the USB-A expansion card on the back right expansion slot.
- USB-A port on the USB-A expansion card on the front right expansion slot.
- A USB-A port on my Anker 553 USB-C Hub
Windows will freeze as soon as I plug it in.
- Attempting to open the audio part of the windows 11 settings app will cause the settings app to freeze
- Web browsers won’t be able to load pages anymore
- The OS will hang on shutdown and not be able to shut down cleanly (stuck on black screen with computer still running) and require holding the power button down in order to shut it down.
I don’t have the right USB-C to USB-A adapter to test with but I suspect outcome would be the same. This is supposed to be a plug and play device that doesn’t require a driver.
So far there is no solution, other USB devices work fine in that port (USB NVME m.2 enclosure for example). Seems to be issue with
– windows 11
– this mic
– this laptop
Any ideas???
Thanks,
