has anyone tested the speakers left and right sound?
I played a YouTube stereo test and noticed the left sounds different to the right.
Not sure if it’s a design flaw of a broken speaker.
Tested on fully upgraded win11 and Ubuntu both give the same results.
Latest amd cpu
There’s always been a question on whether there’s any driver / speaker matching, and to what degree of tolerance, if any.
But yeah, they’re different in the absolute sense…(no drivers are the same).
And together with them in different locations within the laptop chassis, plus the difference in tolerance in the left/right speaker grills, and differences to sound perception between your ears. Yeah, they’re going to sound different.
The difference in sound between the two speakers is more than the typical +/- 1dB variation you’d expect with different physical speakers. The left side seems to have a boost in the low mids and rolls off quickly in the highs, while the right speaker sounds more scooped in the mids—almost like an ‘80s metal guitar tone.
Are you saying the framework’s tolerance settings could allow for such a drastic variation?
If you play YouTube’s “stereo sound test” video, do you hear a noticeable difference in frequency response between the left and right channels? My guess would be it’s at least a +/- 3-5dB difference.
We don’t even know if there is / isn’t a tolerance ‘settings’ for the speakers at the factory (or speakers manufacturer in this case).
