I think this timeline is missing an important date that might indicate why framework opted to ship a known-to-be-broken firmware:

• Oct 24 : Framework extends 61Wh battery warranty by 1 year for batteries shipped before the battery extender firmware update is available.

This also applies to 61Wh batteries purchased in the Framework Marketplace prior to the firmware update being available for all Framework Laptop 13 generations.

: on further use I am not sure this is a regression-- I think the charging isn’t happening or intermittent when the power draw exceeds the low power charger, like when decoding a YouTube video or playing a game. I’m not sure if this is how it behaved in 3.05. When doing ultra light tasks the laptop is charging (slowly) as before.

In 3.05 the power draw will never exceed the charger even if the charger is 30W or 18W, playing a game just discharges the battery with the charger still nearly fully loaded

This update broke charge limiting for me as well. It’s frequently charging up to 100%, very annoying and not good for battery health.

Are there any fixes, workarounds? An upcoming update?

3.05 fixed the battery and charging (supports 9V charger). 3.07 breaks low power charging that 3.04->3.05 fixes

I think there may be another regression in 3.07 where charging from low-power PD sources is no longer working or not working as well. In 3.05 I was able to charge slowly from 18w and 20w PD devices even when using the computer for light tasks, but in 3.07 the charge is not happening or is imperceptibly slow. There I go crying about them never fixing 5v charging and then they break what they already fixed XD.

I really hope they expand the bios team faster than they expand the platforms they have to support otherwise this will probably get even worse.
