I don’t think the windows partition has anything to do with what we try to do.
If that is the partition next to your EFI partition, you will need to shrink it in order to expand the EFI partition to make room for the update. If you’re going to attempt the live USB instead, then yes, disregard.
Did you try to do the update from Windows?
Yes, just tried now, on Windows i get an infinity black screen and then it says error “Decompress failed”
In order to avoid having to repartition everything can you perhaps just resize the end of the disk partition to free say 512M and then make a new ESP and copy all the files from the original to it? You can then delete the original one.
You’ll have a “hole” with the 100MB at front of the disk but at least you can keep everything else “as is”.
Ok, I tried now with a ubuntu live usb and finally got an error.
The problem is really the low space on the boot/efi partition, it needs 91MB free space or so
Will check how can i can move or recreate the boot/efi
Finally got it working.
Recreated my boot/efi and made it 2GB, and switched the uuid, finish. Now i got 2 boot partitions, may should delete the unused >D
Maybe you should, this can cause problems in the future when a program tries to identify the Bootpartion.
foreal…
I’m looking at the Firmware App in Ubuntu (screenshot below) and I’m wondering:
- What is the “Attestation” field why is it “Not OK” ?
- What is the “Hardware Identification” field?
- Why is it suggesting to “Reinstall” v0.0.3.3?
Thanks!
Not only iPhone 15, but my iPhone 14 Pro appears to have the same issue. Drat.
Just in case anyone didn’t know. It looks like a new driver bundle was released beginning of October for the 16. Just installed it and it looks like the graphics drivers are still al couple of releases behind
Got no notification or email that there were new drivers released. Doesn’t look like there was a post about the new drivers either. I feel like it’s kind of important to let people know especially since we can’t update the AMD app or the drivers ourselves from within the app.
Its not “new”. i guess you mean the version that was done to fix on issue on the newest Windows 24H2 (or whatever those are nowadays called) update.
Possibly but it had graphics sound and ethernet updates so I’m not sure.
Framework explicitly stated there were no driver updates in the bundle:
Has anyone heard if/when the 3.04 Beta will be GA? Been almost 8 months still on 3.03
Even with that “driver bundle” installed, I can’t boot 24H2 without the iGPU in Gaming mode.
I am running Win11 24H2 in game mode with no issues. I don’t have a dGPU expansion. I have the Ryzen 9 7940HS though and AMD 24.10.1 drivers(only).
game mode is on, its the only way I can boot on 24H2, with it set to auto I just get black screen
I had a similar issue with black screen when switching to a second monitor it would go black. After installing AMD 24.10.1 drivers only no issues with black screen when switching monitors. You can try if AMD 24.10.1 drivers help but you could have a different issue no telling. A new Framework BIOS version is over due!!
