Interested in knowing if the upcoming Framework OCuLink Dev Kit will also be able to be connected via a TB4 port (i imagine this is not possible using the one on the back of the GPU expansion module since it’s only USB 2.0,PD and DP 2.1).
All of this being aware of the associated performance degradation/overhead ofc.
The use case is simple, for example for people who upgrade from the 8GB 5070 module to the 12GB module the dock would offer a plug and play way to connect the old GPU module.
I appreciate all the benefits that OCulink offers thanks to the native PCIe connection compared to TB4 but for people who are upgrading the GPU Module on their FW 16 it is not feasible to use the the Oculink module because the expansion bay will be occupioed by the new GPU.
So to recap: will it be possible to run a FW 16 with say, a 12GB GPU installed in the expansion slot and reuse an older 8GB 5070 installed on the oculink dock connected via USB4?
