Fw 13 - ubuntu and TPM full disk encryption

Ubuntu 24.4 offers full disk encryption backed by TPM.

I am using a framework 13 AMD.

Is this feature suported on framework 13?

I heard of some problems on other computers after BIOS upgrade that the key gets lost… Somewhere here can share their experiences?

Is it actually really Full disc encryption? Although haven’t really followed ubuntu for a long time but does the installer actually support it, or is it same as others (like fedora) that the boot is still not encrypted.

It is offered during installation as experimental feature but was scared to test it.
It is different from Fedora because it does make use of some snaps, but I do not know about more technical details…

Oh nice, that is actually pretty neat.

But it is still early stages, wouldn’t put it on a production machine atleast not yet.

FYI it breaks firmware updating from Linux at the moment.

I agree with the sentiment that it’s not ready for production use.

Thank’s for pointing that out!
