I have a niche request for future FW 16 laptop designs to give the keyboard a dedicated USB controller, instead of sharing one with other USB devices. This request is because keyboards are such a crucial security component for booting and unlocking a laptop, that some users would like to configure/isolate them differently than other USB devices.
A concrete example is for QubesOS users. A Qubes user can’t configure the keyboard to only connect to dom0 on the FW 16, because it shares a USB controller with the mediatek wireless device, the fingerprint reader and 4 expansion ports (more info here Framework Laptop 16 (AMD Ryzen 7040 Series) - #23 by cazig - HCL Reports - Qubes OS Forum ).
Anyways, I wanted to mention it as something to consider in future devices (thought I’m sure there are many competing requests that need to be balanced).
