Guidance on disassembling expansion cards

Opened up both USB module types and noted an interesting thing. The type A has metal on both sides of the module. The type C has plastic cover on one side. Also the A obviously has conductive strips that contact both top and bottom covers. So it is shielded somewhat from interference. C does not have the conducive strips at all. Once the screws are removed, the card appears to slide apart, but I am having a heck of a time getting mine apart. I’m trying not to bend the cover by using it as a lever. Any help appreciated, thanks!

Update - I was able to get the cover off by holding the card in both hands, USB-C connector facing up, label side facing me, pressing firmly with my thumbs and firmly but gently pushing toward the USB-C connector end.

Yes that’s what I had to do as well. They are pretty tight and have tiny fingers that engage to hold the top of the cover down, but once they are opened up the 1st time, it’s easier then on.

I’ve got the same performance as @DannyT – I’m about to order another 1TB card b/c I’d like it for other options. I’m OK if the one I have throttles at 16GiB because I could just relegate it to doing stuff like backup – but I’d like my drive I use for OSes to be more reliable. Hopefully the new one will be. I can use a Samsung T7, but I like having it inside my device so to speak.
