That guy is so excited, lol! Pretty cool.
Given that the connector is not even advertised with any kind of speed for HDMI or DP, I suspect it might have problems reaching higher speeds.
Also, it relies directly on DP++. So you’d need to fit electronics into the expansion card to reconstruct a DP port with DP++ (USB-C cannot carry DP++).
And DP++ has been pretty much limited to HDMI 1.4 speeds in practice. So probably another reason for why this has not been widely used.

Also, I cannot believe that this would be as secure as a normal HDMI port. I’d assume it breaks easier than classic ports as it will hold the connector less in place with the outer casing than a normal port.
