I recently just recieved my framework 13 amd 7 laptop and was wondering if i should have my 1tb expansion in the top left slot as shown here Expansion Card Functionality on Framework Laptop 13 (AMD Ryzen™ 7040 Series)
to have usb4. The plan is to put linux on the expansion card and windows on the main ssd. Is this the best slot for it, if not what is the best slot i should keep it in for performance?
The 1 TB expansion card supports USB 3.2 Gen 2 (also known as USB 3.1 Gen 2 because the USB naming scheme is terrible).
It can be plugged into ports that support USB4, however it will get no benefit (but also no downside) from doing so. Just put it in whichever slot you least want to use for something else.

I’d suggest the front left port. It’s the one with the fewest functionality anyway and there will be no downside speed wise as @Kyle_Reis said
