Insulate WiFi Retention bracket?

Just got my Framework DIY and am installing the WLAN card. I’m concerned the metal retention bracket looks to be touching the antenna connectors. Would that potentially cause any reception issues? I’d have though there should be some insulative material on the underside, or the bend not so extreme that the bracket touches them.

Not sure. I will say that the wireless reception on mine has been great.

According to the guide Framework has on replacing the wifi antenna, it seems like this is by design:

You should be good to go. :+1:

The external shell of the leads is the ground. They’re connected together on the card and to the laptop ground generally, so it’s perfectly fine that the bracket contacts them and connects them electrically. Just makes for a better ground!

Thanks, appreciate it. WiFi signal does look to be pretty good.
