Good news. The first third-party board is a huge milestone!
Also RISCV is promising. I’m hoping that this open source ISA can acquire momentum and some big chip manufacturer/designer can pick it up sooner or later.
Unfortunately this processor looks kind of weak/cheap:
It look more like a not-so-new processor for a cheaper alternative to a Raspberry Pi / other SBC rather than a processor suited for a laptop.
The article’s title hyped me up but looking at the details I was kind of disappointed. It’s not something for me.
But as said in the article by framework, I guess some OS/kernel/compilers developer can find this board very useful. I hope this helps RISCV adoption in the future.
