I do need to know if this laptop will be compatible with Linux Mint before I purchase. Ubuntu seems glitchy and not as user friendly.

Linux Mint is not an officially supported distro, but it should work fine.
Just try to install a version with a newer kernel as the hardware in the Framework 16 is quite new and may not be detected by older kernels.
I believe Mint 22 (or whatever is newer) is recommended.
