Hi, I’ve just got the AI 300 and installed Arch on it, everything seems to work, a part connecting to my wifi extender.

I can connect to the main router to both the 2.4 and 5 ghz connections, but I also have a wifi extender that fails to connect / get the ip. I’ve tried changing the networkmanager dhcp client to different ones and trying different settings (disabling random mac, powersave, chaning hostname, creating guest and passwordless connections, etc) but nothing worked.

Is there anyone else having issues with this wifi chip and Linux/Arch?

Yes. You may be interested in the following thread:

My experience has been good after changing to an Intel AX210 Wi-Fi chip, which was pretty cheap and easy.

Not sure how arch handles it but with fedora the wireless-regdb package update fixed the 6ghz connection problems I had. I still replace it with a Qualcomm qcncm865 because I wanted 320mhz wide channels and MLO

I’m guessing the extended doesn’t do 6ghz though. So am a little curious what your problem there might be.

I’m having the exact same issue with my new AI 370 running the fresh Arch install, trying to connect to a TP-Link AC1900 WiFi Extender, which only does 2.4 and 5 ghz.

I haven’t had issues with the extender on any other devices.

Well, I can connect to the extender but I can’t get any internet connection over it.

Another issue I have with the wifi card is multicast not working reliably or sometimes not working at all on my main wifi. I haven’t been able to print over wifi so far. This on archlinux. I also tried the linux-mainline kernel with no difference.

Interestingly, everything works fine on fedora.

Update: I’m testing linux-lts (6.12.25-1-lts) and everything seems… fine?
So either my issue with the extender is unrelated or maybe there’s a bug in the last kernel.
