Libinput 1.26.0 Fixes FW16 Keyboard Recognition Issue

libinput 1.26.0 was released yesterday with an update that corrects the classification of FW16 keyboard modules.

This will eliminate the need for a separate local “quirks” file once this release gets adopted by the various Linux distributions. libinput 1.26.0 is now available in the Arch “extra-testing” repo.

Thanks for sharing, this is great to hear.

I wonder if this will also resolve the issue reported elsewhere where the keyboard doesn’t go to sleep when the lid is closed and can accidentally wake the device up if it get’s pressed through the display.

Do you have to compile libinput from source in order to update it if you aren’t on an Arch based distro? Will this touch-pad- disable-while-typing fix work if I’m using wayland or does it require x11? I’m on popOS and when i do a “sudo apt install libinput” it says it is unable locate package libinput.

Thanks
