Linux Kernel 6.8.0-1014-oem and the Touchpad

Hi,
the Touchpad driver went silent, i.e. wouldn’t move the pointer, on upgrading to the latest Kernel 6.8.0-1014-oem, after the subsequent reboot into it.
This was reproducible over additional reboots. A reboot into v1013 instantly showed a functioning touchpad. Reboot again into v1014, not.
I connected a USB mouse and rebooted again into v1014: now the touchpad and the mouse both work.
Reboot again into v1014 without mouse: touchpad works now.
I’m confused.

Best regards

I stick to the hwe 6.8.0-47 kernel which works nice so far.
Have you issued a bug report for this ? I suppose it is ubuntu.

This was on LinuxMint Wilma, tracking Ubuntu 2024-04, with the “-oem” kernel previously recommended in the Ubuntu 22.04 LTS Installation on the Framework Laptop 16 - Framework Guides.
Now there’s a forum discussion here (Ubuntu 22.04 on the Framework Laptop 16) about the -oem kernel.
Sorry to have missed details.
