[RESPONDED] Linux Mint 22 Fingerprint Reader

I’m running Linux Mint 22 Cinnamon on my Framework 13 at the moment and its worked without issue for the most part with one slight hitch, the screensaver.

In every other situation from the main login screen to the console the fingerprint reader works, but on the screensaver its intermittent. If I open the lid once it will ask me for my fingerprint and work flawlessly. The next time I open it there is no option to use my fingerprint, just my password.

I’m new to Linux myself, so trying to diagnose this problem which doesn’t seem to be consistent is baffling to me. Any ideas?

Hi @Old_Soul ,

Does the screensaver come with Linux Mint? or do you mean it’s the lock screen. It could be a but specific to Linux Mint 2. Can we have a screenshot?

Ubuntu 24.04 and Fedora 40 which is the officially supported distro, doesn’t seem to have this problem.
