Micro sd expansion card that is spring loaded

I believe that’s what is available right now. Perhaps in the future they’ll add pcb files for some expansion cards.

For the microSD expansion card it’s straight forward though. Pad spacing on slots (for the data pins) normally follows the pad spacing on microSD cards themselves. So due to that, you get the same pad spacing on card slots from different manufacturers. I feel like I’ve seen someone post a picture of the inside of microSD expansion card & the pads were at the back of the slot (some slots place them within the body), making it more accessible to solder. If you have one, you can open it up to take a look, and measure the front to back length of the slot in order to compare to what’s available in push-push slots.

For me, I think the eventual solution will be to get the full size SD expansion card when it becomes available. The majority of my devices (cameras) use full size SD anyway, so that will mean I don’t have to pull the micro SD out of the adapter so often. I don’t know what the planned ejecting style for the full size SD will be, but if it’s just push-pull, it should at least be easier to grab hold of than the micro is.

Pretty sure the full sized SD will stick out of the slot quite a lot. And it’ll be push-pull, since push-push is meant for cards that are nearly flush.

Yeah, I expect you’re right. And some people won’t like that. For me, sticking out isn’t much of an issue, since I only use the reader briefly to transfer files from other devices.
