Optane M10 (PCIe 3.0 x 2) Not Recognized

Hi,

I have finally get to disassemble my laptop to remove a SSD so I can put it in something else. My plan was to put a Optane inside, but it seems like the system just doesn’t detect it.

It is a Optane M10 Series. NVMe, PCIe 3x2. It shows up as a 16GB Storage Device on everything else, including the quad SSD to PCIe x8 adapter card I have. However regardless of which slot (two on the dual m.2 expansion bay, and the 2280 on the motherboard slot), I am not able to get the BIOS to recognize it.

It is OS-agnostic. And the system is a Framework 16 Ryzen 7040 Series.

Since this, I want to know, have anyone else been trying with a non-Optane PCIe x2 device (Corel Accelerator?). Does it work?

There is a few other PCIe 3x2 drives. The Apacer AS2280P2. The Kingston A1000. Gigabyte GP-GSM2NE8XXXXXXX/R-R-GBN-GBTM2E8TSSD. Plextor M6e.

Phison also have a PCIe 3.0 x2 controller, the PS5008-E8.

… (looks at Optane Memory)
3-layer PCB on a SSD is wild.

I’ve got some Optane at home, if I remember, I can try booting it in my Framework 13
