Recent upgrade of Debian 12 on Framework 13 AMD raised a firmware issue

I recently upgraded my Debian 12 installation on a Framework 13 AMD which used to “just work” from the terminal:

sudo apt update
sudo apt upgrade

update-initramfs, which ran due to the newly installed kernel (6.1.0-23-amd64), reported numerous amdgpu firmware files missing :

Ever since, I experience the laptop not waking up fully after lid close and re-open, the internal WiFi is not detected any longer and shutdown does not work anymore.

Any ideas what I can do to further diagnose the problem or even fix it, will be appreciated very much.

Thanks in advance.

Having the same with my kernels.
Note that Debian is quite old (no new drivers etc.) so if you start updating some, also find a source with the latest AMD drivers.

Thank you for confirming what I already thought - i.e. my problem is not specific in any way, but should affect anyone running Debian Bookworm’s standard kernel on the Framework 13 AMD and even some other people running similarly old kernel versions.

I already get myself used to the idea of moving my machine to Ubuntu 24.04.1 for the next ten months or so until Debian Trixie turns stable.
