Hi. I’m looking to repaste the AMD CPU and of my FW13 with PTM 7950 (I got SP, admittedly, because I’m more familiar with paste than thermal pads; eventually I’ll bite the bullet). I just want to know before I dive in–are there any photographs or guides showing exactly what areas under the heatsink should receive paste/pads? I just want to make sure I don’t neglect to paste an area on the board and end up cooking the poor thing.

use PTM, I don’t think there is anything other than the cpu die that needs to have interface material iirc

Cool cool, thank you for the info!
Repasting was stupid easy. Don’t know what I was hesitating about. I looked at the replacement fan on the website and it looked like it had thermal paste/pads on several spots besides the CPU die, but when I opened mine up, it was just on the die itself. Now to test the temps!
