Hello,

I am using a 13th Gen Intel Core laptop on Linux Debian (sid), with a Lenovo Dock usb-c Gen2

Sometimes, usb-c disconnect :

[Thu Jul 6 15:57:05 2023] usb 1-5.3: USB disconnect, device number 13
[Thu Jul 6 15:57:05 2023] usb 1-5.3.3: USB disconnect, device number 14
[Thu Jul 6 15:57:05 2023] usb 1-5.3.3.1: USB disconnect, device number 15
[Thu Jul 6 15:57:05 2023] usb 1-5.3.3.2: USB disconnect, device number 16
[Thu Jul 6 15:57:05 2023] usb 4-4: USB disconnect, device number 6
[Thu Jul 6 15:57:05 2023] r8152-cfgselector 4-4.1: USB disconnect, device number 7
[Thu Jul 6 15:57:05 2023] usb 4-4.3: USB disconnect, device number 8

So I am loosing monitor, sound, network, usb-a…

I have use same dock with a Thinkpad and no problem.
Dock Firmware have been updated to the latest.

Difficult to see id the problem is the laptop, the dock or the OS :frowning:

Any advices ?

So I have switch the usb-c to an other port and same problem
Maybe the USB-C Expansion Card

I should try to order a new one
I have also 2 HDMI port and one is not working

Sounds like it might be a bad card, but, always test with a supported Live USB first. Ubuntu 22.04 USB - if it happens there, then it’s likely the expansion card.

Hello all,

So I have plug the external power-supply (usb-c) + the dock (usb-c) and it has been stable all the afternoon.

The Dock power supply is a 90w, maybe too just.

Well that sounds promising.
