I am probably buying this laptop for school next year. However the school wants me to have 5 GHZ and I was wondering if the RZ616 had 5GHZ capability. I can’t find this on the internet and framework emails don’t respond right now so anyone with the answer that would be really helpful
TL;DR yes it does!
Almost everything has 5 GHZ these days, so there’s that. The way you can check is this: every WiFi chip which supports a higher standard than WiFi 3 has 5 GHz. The RZ616 supports WiFi 6E, so it has 2.4, 5 and 6 GHz as can be seen here in the table under radio frequency. If you see something like “802.11ax” that means almost the same, but is the more technical name.
There is some debate if this is a good chip, but it works fine for me. If you do have problems, switch to an Intel AX210.

You have to go out of your way to find a m.2 wifi card that doesn’t have 5ghz these days.
