Slightly Scratched Framework 16 Display (Used and Cleaned)

I managed to get some small scratches on my Framework 16 display, and I’m a perfectionist so I’m swapping it out and selling the old one. The display works perfectly still, and I’ve cleaned it with the appropriate monitor cleaner solution. I’ve taken pictures of the screen head on and at an angle so you can see the scratches more easily. I’m flexible on the selling price as long as it’s reasonable.

Hi @DKboy001, welcome to the Community!

Is that a Framework Laptop 13 display or Framework Laptop 16 display?

Your post mentions an original purchase date of July 2023; the Framework 16 laptops did not ship until this year. Did you mean you placed your pre-order in July and you were an early batch Framework Laptop 16 recipient? That being the case, the purchase date would be the delivery date in Feb 2024.

I realize as I typed this you probably meant the latter, so other than the cosmetic aspect, it would still be under warranty function wise until February 2025.

Your straight on picture is almost impossible to see the scratch. I wish they made an external display case to turn it into a standalone monitor. That would be pretty trick to pull out of your bag the FW16 laptop and then the FW16 Laptop extra monitor connected over USBC to dual screen like a boss!

Yea it’s for the 16. It was part of the preorder group which ended up shipping early this year.

The straight on picture makes it difficult to see the scratch, but it does give an idea of how it looks when in use.

You do make a good point about adapting it to be used as external display, though sadly I don’t have the equipment or knowhow to make that happen myself, but I see no reason why any experienced hardware modder couldn’t make that a thing. (I already have my own portable external monitor, so it wouldn’t be useful for me.)
