Hi,

I’m not saying i’m intrested, but given that mainboard, and memory alone is around €1000 (new): what is the reason you are selling it?, and what is the brand (with product name) of the memory, and storage?

Hi, no worries!

You’re saying the laptop price is (in your opinion) too low for the today’s mainboard and ram price or too high?

Well, I bought the FW 16 with max upgrades during my studies which literally cut half of my bank account balance so that’s why I’m selling my previous laptop, the FW13, also because I don’t need it anymore and before it’s just laying around for additional years and me having to remember to charge its battery every now and then I’d rather have it belong to someone who could make good use of it and be happy about it.

Oh sorry for not mentioning it. I just added it to the description.

The memory are 2 32GB (2x16) - Kingston Fury DDR5 5600 MT/s RAM sticks. I believe it was 5600 MT/s if I’m not mistaken.

The storage is the same as available on the FW Marketplace, a WD_BLACK SN850X 2TB - 7,300 MB/s Read / 6300 MB/s Write NVMe SSD, however, the one on the marketplace is a custom Framework Exclusive whereas mine is from a retailer.

Kind regards and thx for your comment!

no, their exist good reasons used hardware is cheaper (then new); it’s usaly not enough cheaper to make sense.

which literally cut half of my bank account balance

well I won’t be judging your finacial decions, but i’m glad to hear that you ware happy enough with the computer to buy a second one.

Kind regards and thx for your comment!

thx, for a good response.

I was planing to upgrade to the 7840u motherboard when ram prices made sense, as 64gb costs almost €1000. now I might put my money somewhere else, Framework 13 pro looks very atractive as I have had some chasi isues.

If I decide I’m intrested I will let you know. at that time I would like smart data from the ssd, and health data from the battery. I don’t know how to read either on Windows, sorry.

Well FW 16 with max specs is essential as Game Dev student with Game Engines like Unreal Engine 5  .
Ran on FW 13 somewhat with lower render settings in a small project but…god bless you when running a full game in UE5.

Mmh yeah I mean, I “only” have 32 GB in my FW 16 now and I’m not planning on upgrading to 64GB as to me what I’ve got right now is totally enough for me.
Especially on the FW13 it was always more than enough for everything I did.

Sure!
I have no clue on how to figure that out. For the battery back when I had Linux installed on my FW13 it showed some estimated health at least and it was pretty good. I suspect it not having gone much lower.

64gb is definetly a want, rather then a need, which is why I was planing to wait until ram prices make sense for a want. I also don’t need a new computer as the one I have pays my bills as is.

at most with steam, web-browser, and my then current work project, was a little above 30gb, with swap that would have been “fine”. I currently have 64gb.

Yeah, I would like, when/if i decide not to wait for ram prices to go down, to see the raw health data as reported by firmware, maybe with human readable units, rather then some OS interpertations. same goes with SMART data.
