[SOLVED] The touchpad became permanently disabled

After disabling the touchpad when the mouse is plugged in, my touchpad became permanently disabled. Re-enabling the touchpad in the Hardware>Mouse&Touchpad>…, unplugging the mouse, rebooting, etc., doesn’t help. Also tried to install the synaptics driver - still no luck.

Linux Mint 22 (based on Ubuntu 20), Cinnamon
Framework 16

Any help is appreciated. Thank you.

Turned out there was a bad contact. After reinstalling the touchpad, the number pad, and reconnecting the red plug underneath the numberpad, everything started to work.

Glad to hear reseating everything fixed the issue! Thank you for the follow up and welcome to the community!
