Some boot disks work, others don't

Hello everyone,

I just bought the FW13DIY and wanted to try installing TinyCore (I understand it’s not supported). I made a boot disk on a macbook using Etcher and to my disappointment the computer doesn’t seem to recognize it. I made an Ubuntu boot disk (24.10) in the same manner, which the computer did recognize and allow me to install.

I made sure to disable the secure boot option, and I have the latest version of my BIOS (v3.05), but this doesn’t solve the issue with TinyCore. My iso file for TC is the latest version as far as I can tell.

So it seems that some boot disks work while others don’t. What gives? For reference, my hardware specs are:

CPU: AMD Ryzen™ 5 7640U - 2.8k Display
RAM: 32 GB (2x 16 GB)
Storage: WD_BLACK™ SN850X NVMe™- M.2 2280 - 1TB

Maybe this?

Thank you for this – it looks like I was using the 32-bit version of TC, not the UEFI-compatible 64-bit version. Once I made a boot disk of that it was recognized in the boot menu, but now I have a black screen when I click on “tc” in GRUB. Onto the next problem I guess, lol
