Some external screen issues on Fedora 40

I just got my laptop with Intel Core Ultra 155H last week and I’m giving a try to Fedora 40. So far, everything works out of the box but I have some minor display issues.

I’m using a 21:9 screen plugged to my FW13 through USB-C. It is also charging my laptop through the same USB-C.

  • When the laptop goes to sleep it can happen that my external screen doesn’t wake up if I wake up the laptop.
  • If I unplug the laptop from the screen while the laptop is sleeping it can happen that my FW is still acting like the external screen is connected. Like I have a “ghost” screen, which is annoying because my external screen is configured to be the main screen with the top bar, so when it happens I don’t see it anymore.
  • I have an unkown 36" screen showing in my screen config for whatever reason. I disabled it so it’s not really bothering me, but if I don’t do it, it also acts as a “ghost” screen as shown below. They both have the 2.8k resolution.

I searched for similar issues topics but could not find. If you got any ideas let me know !

Thanks !

P.S : just in case, I know external screen works perfectly through USB-C on Ubuntu 22.04 and 24.04 on my Lenovo Yoga laptop. Haven’t tried booting Ubuntu on my FW13 to see if it makes a difference, but I might try.
