Touchpad Module Concern - Framework 16

Hi everyone,

I recently purchased the Framework 16 DIY edition, and it’s been working perfectly so far. However, I noticed that the touchpad module seems to be slightly poking out, and I’m not sure if this is normal.

I’ve tried reseating the midplate about 4-5 times and ensured that all the screws are securely tightened, but the issue persists. I’m a bit worried that the touchpad might end up poking the screen when the laptop is closed.

I’m attaching some pictures for reference. If anyone has experienced a similar issue or has any suggestions on how to fix this, I’d really appreciate your advice.

When I first got mine recently I noticed the edge was up similar to that but not as badly. You might try removing it again and giving some light downwards force there while sliding it into place. If you can verify that you are sliding it into place properly and it’s finding the notch it’s supposed to be in, you could try gently bending the module to be more flat if you’re comfortable with it. Otherwise I’d get in contact with framework support.
I was able to straighten mine with some gentle adjustments but it wasn’t that far off.
