Trackpad disabled after tablet mode

I’ve been having this issue on Fedora 43 (only os I’ve had on here so far) where after I use tablet for while, the touchpad stops working until next reboot.

  • The touchpad buttons still work, just not the mouse movement
  • It doesn’t happen everytime and seems to correlate with time spent in tablet mode
  • I’ve tried enabling and disabled the touchpad, sleeping and resuming etc nothing helps except reboot

Is anyone else facing this issue?

Yes, me too, although mine is trackpad plus keyboard not working after tablet mode. Lately my trackpad has also cut out in laptop mode once or twice for like a minute at a time. Windows 11 22H2, UEFI/EC 3.06 updated, driver bundle installed.

e: just re-seated my keyboard/trackpad panel in case that had anything to do with it; will wait and see. None of the screws were loose, but worth trying.

For me, sometimes it helps switching between tablet and laptop again.

I’m getting this issue sometimes with Ubuntu 25.10 and yes some combination of switching mode again or closing and opening the lid resolves it.

ive get this problem occasionally using debian and sway on wayland. the only thing that always fixes it is to switch to a text console (eg. ctrl, alt, fn F2 in my case) then back to the GUI (eg ctrl, alt, fn F1)
